Comparative studies in Sacral texts: East-West perspectives

The School of Asian Studies at the National Research University “Higher School of Economics” in partnership with School of Theology ща University of Latvia is organizing the workshop “Comparative studies in Sacral texts: East-West perspectives” that will be held in Moscow on the 4th of December, 2018.

The workshop critically addresses a number of questions related to the study of most important sacral texts and different attempt to translate its meaning into non-native languages. The strive to find an adequate of the meaning during translation of the key notions of Bible, Quran, Buddhist and Taoist texts is turned to the broad search of axiological meanings of culture itself, its values and ability of adequate interpretation.

Applications for participation should be received no later than November 15.
