The Research and Educational Section of Korean Studies was formed at the School of Asian Studies in 2011. The main focus of the Korean Studies Section is teaching the language, history, culture, and economy of Korea. Students are currently engaged in educational and research activities related to Korean politics, economics, geography, history, religion, culture, literature, art, and language.
The Korean Studies Section cooperates closely with the Korea Foundation and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, and also has friendly relations with the Embassy of the DPRK in Moscow. Students of the Korean Studies Section have the opportunity to study in the Republic of Korea and the DPRK.
The Research and Educational Section of Korean Studies is responsible for organising student research events, including roundtables and seminars. In addition, it organises Korean poetry recitation contests and invites lecturers and professors from foreign universities to give lectures. The section has a long-standing tradition of celebrating Korean holidays (Seollal, Chuseok, Hangul Day). During these celebrations, students organise a variety of activities, including quizzes, competitions, and performances. Students of the Korean Studies Section are known for their active participation in university life, successfully balancing academic and extracurricular activities.
